After many years of leasing commercial space for his custom cabinetry and furniture business; Rick Page is thrilled to have finally purchase the quarter acre of real estate and the 7,750-sf building located at 53A Davis Place in Laconia, a stone’s throw from beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee.
“We had first right of refusal in place, but the previous owner never wanted to sell, and we are very comfortable here, so we just waited,” said Rick Page, owner of R.A. Page Farmhouse Furniture, LLC. “I know this building better than anyone and over the years we have customized it to fit our production needs.”
In 1996, R.A Page Farmhouse Furniture LLC started off solely as a furniture company, but Rick’s customers asked if he could produce the same quality craftsmanship with kitchen cabinetry and built-ins, his reply, “I sure can.” Rick comes from a long line of celebrated New England craftsmen. His love of creating furniture eventually progressed into producing custom cabinetry with Rick now employing eight employees which includes a full time in-house kitchen designer.
With assistance from CRDC and Bank of New Hampshire; Rick worked closely with CRDC’s Jennifer Boulanger to seek financing through the SBA’s 504 Loan Program taking advantage of the low down payment and retain capital for the business.
“I'm a designer and cabinetmaker, so all the banking jargon was both new and confusing to me,” said Rick. “Jennifer was so easy to work with, she really helped me work through all the documents needed. It was a seamless transaction with CRDC and Bank of New Hampshire.”
“Rick is very well organized and like with his furniture design, he is very meticulous about his business,” said Jennifer Boulanger, Assistant VP, CRDC. “We were able to really work with Rick’s needs for both the land and building to create a financing package that worked for him and gave him the flexibility that he needed.”
Rick enjoys working with a variety of customers and no matter their budget needs, he prides himself on finding solutions. While designing quality-customized cabinetry is the main focus of the business he does continue to offer custom farmhouse furniture as well.
