Community Economic Development Assistance Program
Overview
If you are a municipality or local economic development group, CRDC can assist you through the Community Economic Development Assistance Program (CEDAP). This outreach program is fee-based and provides direct technical assistance in implementing important community based economic development programs.

Some CEDAP Projects
CRDC has been instrumental in several high profile projects. CRDC staff has:
- Secured $500,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for Sullivan County to assist with the rehabilitation of the Wainshal Mill in Claremont when completed will house a growing regional computer services company, a restaurant and inn, and first class office space, projected completion late 2009.
- Secured $303,000 CDBG grant to assist with the renovation of the Daniel Webster Homestead in Franklin to house Webster Place Recovery Center
- Assisted the Hopkinton Economic Development Committee in evaluating development opportunities for an industrial-zoned area containing several large properties.
- Advised the Town of Loudon and the Bow Business Development Commission regarding the formation of non-profit local development corporations and preparation of development strategies.
- Assisted the Town of Northfield in obtaining CDBG funding in the amount of $500,000. Grant proceeds were utilized to reconstruct a local street that provides the sole access to two major employers, Freudenberg-NOK and Tobin Tool and Design. These employers have invested over $800,000 in plant expansion and hired 29 new employees at above-average manufacturing wages as a result of the project.
- Prepared development programs and financing plans in support establishing Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Districts in the following communities:
- City of Franklin: industrial park expansion.
- City of Claremont: industrial area infrastructure improvements and Mill District revitalization.
- Town of Plymouth: downtown revitalization.
- City of Laconia: downtown revitalization.
- Obtained $500,000 "Brownfields" funding via HUD Appropriations bill to assist in the revitalization of the "Opportunity Corridor" in the City of Concord.
- Assisted the Town of Pembroke in evaluating development options and infrastructure needs for several parcels of vacant land.
- Assisted the White Mountain Gateway Economic Development Council (Plymouth) in assessing the feasibility of developing a business/industrial park. and establishing a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District in the downtown.
- Assisted the City of Claremont in several projects, including:
- Administering the loan fund operated by the Claremont Industrial Development Authority.
- Obtaining $1,000,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to establish a CRDC – administered revolving loan fund that assisted in major expansions by Crown Point Cabinetry and Customized Structures, Inc. These expansions involved private investments of over $7,000,000 and led to the creation of over 75 new jobs.
